File Compression and Reorganization Utilities
InterAccess enhances the HP NonStop™ print spooler so it can
communicate directly with any TCP/IP LAN-based HP LaserJet printer
equipped with an HP JetDirect or compatible adapter card. InterAccess
also supports printers connected to network print servers and devices
that support the LPD protocol. InterAccess allows HP networks to become
UNIX LPR/LPD (RFC 1179) compliant.
InterAccess consists of the following software components:
- INTRX
-- provides access to HP JetDirect and a variety of LPD servers.
INTRX generates EMS events containing job accounting information,
which is processed by Network Peripheral Manager (NPM) to generate
printer management reports.
- INTRXLPD
-- provides remote access to HP NonStop Kernel spoolers
using the strict RFC 1179 LPD protocol. INTRXLPD is also compatible
with most LPR clients.
- NPM
-- provides for configuration, control, management, and accounting
of network-based printers.
- BOOTPD
(Bootstrap Protocol Daemon) -- allows network printers
and print interfaces to be centrally configured and dynamically
managed. Coupled with NPM, BOOTPD provides very easy management
of these devices.
- SYSLOG
-- provides a bridge between the UNIX system syslog facility and
the HP NonStop Kernel EMS. Syslog-compatible, non-SNMP devices
can now log messages that will be visible to the EMS log.
- APLSPOOL
-- allows Apple Macintosh workstations and AppleTalk networks
to print to the NonStop Kernel spooler. Self-configuring,
it automatically detects changes in the spooler configuration
and reflects them to the workstation.
With InterAccess, you can take full advantage of all the printing
functionality, flexibility, and reliability available in today's
open networking environments.
